The Transitional Government Presents a Proposal for the Integration of the SDF into the Army

The Minister of Defense in the Syrian Transitional Government, Murhaf Abu Qasra, stated that the concerned authorities have submitted a detailed proposal for the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the Ministry of Defense. He added, in a statement to Al Arabiya on Sunday, that the proposal organizes the mechanisms for the SDF’s integration into the Syrian army, without revealing additional details about the content of the proposed framework.

Abu Qasra explained that Syria is currently coordinating with both Saudi Arabia and Turkey on issues of defense and military cooperation, noting that about three thousand officers who had defected from the former Syrian regime have been recruited.

The Minister of Defense mentioned that the forces affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government have been continuing their operations against the Islamic State (ISIS) for nearly ten years.
