Energy in the Kurdistan Region affected by Kormor bombing; ministry reassures residents

The Ministry of Electricity in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq expressed its gratitude to residents for their patience and endurance regarding the partial power outage, following a malfunction in the grid caused by the bombing that targeted the Kormor gas field in Chamchamal district, Sulaymaniyah province.

In a statement, the ministry said that its teams, in coordination with the Ministry of Natural Resources, security agencies, and Dana Gas—the company operating the field—are working to restore production to its normal level and return electricity to all affected areas “as soon as possible.”

The ministry affirmed that “the safety and comfort of citizens are a priority for the Kurdistan Regional Government,” noting that efforts are ongoing to address the damage and ensure stable power supply.
