Protests in the Coast, Homs, and Hama Condemning Violence Amid Heavy Security Deployment

Cities and towns in the Syrian coast, Homs, and Hama witnessed popular protests on Tuesday in response to recent acts of violence, accompanied by a wide security deployment in several areas.
Protest gatherings were recorded at Al-Azhari Roundabout in the city of Latakia, in the city of Jableh, as well as in areas of rural Hama and the Al-Zahraa neighborhood in Homs.
Participants raised demands calling for federalism, decentralization, and a rejection of violence. Protesters also praised the stance of Sheikh Ghazal Ghazal, the spiritual authority of the Alawite community and the head of the Supreme Alawite Islamic Council.
These movements come amid rising demands within the Alawite community to address the violent incidents that have occurred in some coastal areas and the city of Homs in recent days, including recent attacks attributed to members of the Bani Khalid Bedouins, alongside calls to convey the residents’ voices to local and international entities regarding the tense humanitarian and security situation.
The areas where protests took place witnessed heavy security deployment since Tuesday morning, while local calls emphasized the need to maintain the peaceful nature of the gatherings and reject any acts of violence or practices that threaten security and societal stability.
