Clashes Between Security Forces and Armed Group in Latakia Countryside

Intense clashes broke out on Monday between Syrian security forces and a group described as “outlaws” in the village of Al-Badrousiyah in the Latakia countryside, according to local sources cited by Al Arabiya and Al Hadath channels.

No further details have yet been released regarding the size of the forces involved or possible casualties, while the sources noted continued tension in the vicinity of the village over the past hours.

The clashes in Latakia come at a time when the city of Homs is witnessing heightened security measures, as the Internal Security Forces administration in the province extended a curfew in several neighborhoods until 5 p.m. on Monday, urging residents to comply with the decision for their own safety.

These developments coincided with calls from local tribes in Homs for calm and restraint following a murder in the town of Zaidal that resulted in the death of a young man and his wife. The tribes stressed the importance of preserving security and stability and supporting the efforts of the relevant authorities to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The tribes also urged residents of the province not to be drawn into any tensions that could ignite discord or fuel disputes among local communities.
