Mutual Clashes Between the SDF and the Interim Government Factions in Rural Raqqa

The Ministry of Defense of the Syrian Interim Government announced on Thursday that attacks carried out by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) at midnight on Wednesday targeted the deployment points of the Interim Government factions in the countryside of Raqqa, northern Syria. The statement clarified that the attacks resulted in the killing of two soldiers and a temporary takeover of several sites.
The Media and Communications Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian Interim Government told “SANA” on Thursday that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) attacked at midnight on Wednesday the deployment points of the Interim Government factions in the Maadan area in the countryside of Raqqa, northern Syria.
The ministry added that the attacks led to the SDF taking control of several sites following heavy bombardment with various types of weapons, which resulted in the killing of two of the government factions’ soldiers and the injury of others.
The Media and Communications Directorate of the Ministry of Defense clarified that the ministry’s forces responded to the sources of fire and regained control of the affected sites.
Meanwhile, the SDF announced in a statement published today on its official website that its forces “are dealing with a number of sites used by the Islamic State (ISIS) organization in the Ghaem al-Ula desert east of Raqqa to launch drones towards its points of deployment.”
On Wednesday, the SDF announced the downing of two drones in eastern rural Raqqa, northern Syria, clarifying that their source was the deployment points of Syrian government forces and factions in the vicinity of one of the villages.
According to local witnesses, the factions affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government were the ones who initiated the attack on the villages, while the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) responded to the sources of fire.
