European Commission Grants Jordan €80 Million to Support Syrian Refugees

The European Commission approved on Sunday an additional funding package worth €80 million to support Jordan’s efforts in hosting Syrian refugees and the host communities affected by the ongoing displacement since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis.
The Commission explained that the new funding aims to provide social protection and direct services to the most vulnerable refugees, and to strengthen sustainable solutions to the displacement situation in Jordan, in line with the financial commitments announced during the Ninth Brussels Conference on Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region.
The decision indicated that the funding comes in response to the accelerating and unforeseen needs resulting from the developments of the Syrian crisis and the deterioration of social and economic conditions, amid declining international funding from other donor sources.
This brings the total announced European funding for Jordan in 2025 to €173 million — €93 million under the multi-annual plan, and €80 million under the special measure supporting the hosting of Syrian refugees.
