Iran Announces Reconstruction of Damaged Nuclear Facilities, Reaffirms Commitment to Peaceful Approach

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that his country will rebuild the nuclear facilities damaged by the U.S.–Israeli attacks that targeted them last June, affirming that Iran’s nuclear program will continue in line with national needs, without seeking to acquire a nuclear weapon.
During an inspection tour at the headquarters of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Pezeshkian stressed that “Iran is steadfastly moving forward in developing its scientific and technological capabilities despite external pressures,” adding that his country “will not back down in the face of any attempts to disrupt its scientific path or limit its progress.”
In concurrent remarks, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said that Tehran had received messages from Washington regarding the possibility of resuming nuclear negotiations, noting that the details of these communications “will be revealed at the appropriate time.”
For his part, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani called for what he described as a “national resistance” in the face of U.S. pressure, emphasizing that “the enemy’s demands have no ceiling and cannot be confronted through unconditional concessions.”
These statements come at a time of growing tensions between Tehran and Washington, amid stalled negotiations to revive the 2015 nuclear agreement and Western accusations that Iran is expanding its nuclear activities beyond the commitments stipulated in the accord.
