Al-Sharaa Receives German Foreign Minister in Damascus

Syrian Interim Prime Minister Ahmad Al-Sharaa received German Foreign Minister Johann Fadvol in Damascus on Thursday, in the presence of Interim Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani, as part of the German minister’s regional tour of the Middle East.
According to the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Syria and Germany and enhance cooperation in political, economic, and humanitarian fields, in addition to reviewing regional and international developments of mutual concern.
Both sides emphasized the importance of diplomatic dialogue and direct communication in supporting regional stability and fostering opportunities for mutual cooperation in the interest of the Syrian and German peoples.
Earlier in the day, Fadvol visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where he pledged additional support for the Syrian government’s reconstruction efforts while stressing the need to ensure “a safe and dignified life for all Syrian citizens.”
In press statements, the German minister said his country would continue to support humanitarian projects in Syria, including demining operations and relief assistance, adding that German companies are interested in contributing to future reconstruction efforts.
