Delegation from the Autonomous Administration Visits Beirut to Discuss the Situation of Lebanese Women in al-Hol Camp

A delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is visiting the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Thursday to hold talks with Lebanese authorities regarding the situation of Lebanese women held in al-Hol camp in the countryside of al-Hasakah.

Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar said on Wednesday evening that the delegation, representing the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), will meet with Lebanon’s General Security “to discuss possible forms of assistance and coordination concerning the Lebanese women in the camp.”

In a statement to Lebanon’s Shams TV, al-Hajjar noted that “the Lebanese side is ready to cooperate within legal and humanitarian frameworks,” without revealing the number of detainees or further details about the meeting schedule.

This marks the first time that Lebanese authorities have officially announced direct communication with the Autonomous Administration regarding the issue of Lebanese nationals in al-Hol camp, which houses thousands of women and children from families of the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) of various nationalities.

So far, the Autonomous Administration has not issued any official comment about the visit or the specific topics that will be discussed in Beirut.
