Macron describes the integration of the SDF with the transitional government as an important step toward national unity

French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed the agreement to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with the institutions of the transitional government in Syria, describing it as “a very important step toward the unity of Syria,” in an interview with Rudaw TV.

UN observers noted that French support could strengthen political solutions in Syria; however, they emphasized that implementing the agreement requires international monitoring to ensure the avoidance of any renewed tensions.
