Israeli Army Announces Limited Ground Operation Inside Lebanon

The Israeli army has announced that it carried out a limited ground operation inside Lebanese territory targeting Hezbollah positions, marking the latest escalation between the two sides along the shared border.

In a statement, the army said that soldiers from the Regional Reserve Brigade 810 and engineering units conducted the operation overnight Sunday on the Lebanese side of the Mount Dov area, aiming “to destroy sites used by Hezbollah and to prevent its future entrenchment in the area,” according to the statement.

The army added that the operation concluded without any casualties among Israeli forces, without providing further details on the extent of the damage or field outcomes.

The operation comes as Israel continues to launch frequent airstrikes on areas in southern Lebanon, claiming to target Hezbollah’s infrastructure and military sites.

Earlier, U.S. Special Envoy to Syria Tom Barak warned that Israel could launch broader strikes against Hezbollah if Lebanon fails to take serious steps toward disarming the group, describing the potential consequences as “extremely dangerous.”
