3 Killed and 9 Injured in Bombing Targeting Military Bus in Eastern Deir ez-Zor Countryside

Three people were killed and nine others injured today, Wednesday, as a result of a roadside bomb explosion targeting a military bus belonging to the Syrian Ministry of Defense on the main road between the cities of Deir ez-Zor and Al-Mayadin near the village of Sa’lu in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, according to local sources.
The sources explained that the explosion completely disabled the bus, while ambulance teams rushed to the site to transport the wounded to nearby hospitals, noting that some of the injured are in critical condition, which may lead to an increase in the death toll.
The sources suspected that the attackers were members of the Islamic State (ISIS) cells active in the area, which occasionally target government forces’ sites and vehicles.
This attack comes after a similar incident on October 2, when a roadside bomb exploded near a small truck carrying members of the 86th Division of the Ministry of Defense on the same road near the Al-Toob village junction, injuring two soldiers at the time.
