Complete Suspension of “Pullman” Bus Services Between Qamishli and Damascus Amid Security Tensions

Passenger transport company owners in the city of Qamishli reported on Monday a complete halt of bus (Pullman) services between the areas under the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the city of Damascus, a move that directly affected travelers, especially patients and students.
A representative from “Haval” Tourism and Travel Company told North Press that only four buses managed to reach Damascus on Sunday before the company was informed of a decision to suspend all trips “until further notice.”
He added that the decision applies to all passengers without exception, affirming, “Trips are completely suspended even for patients and students, and no one is allowed to cross,” referring to the imposed movement restrictions.
This suspension comes amid the closure of crossings between areas controlled by the Transitional Government of Syria and the Autonomous Administration since last week, following security tensions in the city of Aleppo, where entrances to predominantly Kurdish neighborhoods were shut after limited clashes between the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and government forces.
Although a subsequent agreement for a comprehensive ceasefire between the two sides was reached, movement between the regions remains restricted, with no clear indications about when bus services will resume or when restrictions might ease.
