US Envoy Visits Northeast Syria to Discuss Cooperation and Stability with SDF Leader

The US Special Envoy to Syria, Thomas Barak, visited northeast Syria on Monday, meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), General Mazlum Abdi, in the presence of the Commander of the US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper.
Barak stated in a release that the visit aimed to enhance joint coordination and support efforts to achieve stability in Syria. The discussions focused on supporting local security, combating terrorist organizations, and advancing the political process to ensure Syrian territorial unity and improve living conditions in the region.
This visit marks the first of its kind for Barak since assuming his role as US Special Envoy to Syria, amid intense diplomatic efforts to promote dialogue between various parties and ensure stability in northeast Syria.
The SDF has not yet issued an official statement on the meeting’s details, while local sources confirmed that the meeting took place in a positive atmosphere, focusing on security coordination and humanitarian efforts in the region.
