Calm Returns to Deir Hafir After Tensions Between SDF and Government Forces

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Monday the return of calm to the outskirts of Deir Hafir city in Aleppo countryside, following shelling incidents and attacks that it accused government forces of carrying out.
The SDF stated in a release issued on Sunday evening that the attacks on the city are part of a “systematic approach targeting civilians and sparking chaos,” referring to previous incidents that resulted in the deaths of eight civilians.
Meanwhile, the Defense Ministry of the Syrian Interim Government denied targeting the city, affirming that the army units are exercising the highest degree of restraint and that the shelling is part of the right to respond to SDF fire sources that targeted the villages of Hmeima and Al-Kayta east of Aleppo.
This comes as concerned parties are closely following the situation in Deir Hafir, amid local calls to maintain security and stability in the city and surrounding areas.
