The Ministry of Justice: Officials of the previous regime are still on trial and investigation

The Ministry of Justice in the Syrian transitional government denied today the accuracy of the news circulating on some social media platforms regarding the issuance of death sentences against a number of officials of the previous regime.

The ministry stated in a statement that the names being circulated are still under investigation and trial before the competent judicial authorities, and that no final judicial verdict has been issued against them so far.

The ministry also clarified that this clarification comes to correct what has been circulated and to confirm that the judicial procedures are still in their preliminary stages.
