Turkey Announces Arrest of a Person Accused of Spying for Mossad in Istanbul

The Turkish intelligence agency and Istanbul Security Directorate, in cooperation with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, announced the arrest of a person named Serkan Çetçek, accused of working for the Israeli Mossad, in a security operation carried out in the city, according to security sources today.
The sources explained that the detainee had been under surveillance for a long period based on intelligence information, as he is suspected of gathering sensitive information and transmitting it to foreign parties.
They indicated that the operation came after extensive investigations that uncovered a network believed to be engaged in espionage activities within Turkish territory.
Authorities confirmed that this step is part of efforts to combat espionage and protect national security, noting that investigations are still ongoing to reveal more details about the suspect’s activities and his network of connections.
