Protest in As-Suwayda Demanding Payment of Overdue Salaries

A number of male and female teachers, along with employees in the education sector in As-Suwayda Governorate, organized a protest today, Thursday, in the city center, raising the slogan: “Salary is a right, not charity.”
The participants called on the Ministry of Education to pay their salaries and financial dues, which have been suspended for more than three months, emphasizing that salaries are a fundamental right that ensures a decent living and the continuation of the educational process without disruption.
The protesters held banners in front of the Directorate of Education and the governorate building to affirm their demands, calling for urgent solutions to address their living conditions.
This action comes after previous protests, including one by civilian employees affiliated with the Ministry of Defense in Damascus on September 8th, during which they demanded clarification of their employment status and payment of their suspended salaries.
The protesters confirmed that the continued delay in salaries exacerbates their daily suffering, renewing their demands to ensure the regular payment of their financial entitlements.
