Syrian Interior Ministry Affirms Enhanced Security Performance and Support for Personnel in Daraa

Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab held a meeting with the leadership of internal security and directors of departments in Daraa Governorate to assess the security and administrative situation and review the progress of police and security operations in the region.
During the meeting, Khattab emphasized the importance of continuing to improve performance and strengthening cooperation among the various agencies. He praised the efforts of field personnel and their role in maintaining security and stability. The minister also listened to briefings from security leaders on the current operations and daily challenges, directing that the necessary support and resources be provided to improve the work environment and enhance performance efficiency.
In a related context, the Minister of Interior announced last June a series of measures to restructure the country’s security apparatus, highlighting the major challenges facing security work in the post-Assad era—particularly in combating terrorism, drug trafficking, and rebuilding trust between citizens and security institutions.
At the time, the minister stated that the ministry’s mission is “extremely difficult” and requires changing the public perception that developed during the years of the previous regime, which was largely associated with fear of the security services.
