Syria and Jordan: Trade Exchange Surges Beyond 190 Million Dinars

Trade exchange between Syria and Jordan witnessed a record leap during the first seven months of 2025, according to foreign trade data released by the Jordanian Department of Statistics.

The data showed that Jordan’s imports from Syria reached approximately 62 million Jordanian dinars (equivalent to about 87 million US dollars), compared to 31 million dinars in the same period last year — marking a 100% increase.

Conversely, Jordanian exports to Syria rose to about 130 million dinars, compared to just 26 million dinars in the same period of 2024, according to the Syrian news agency SANA.

Jordanian exports to the Syrian market are mainly concentrated in construction industries and building materials such as cement, iron, marble, tiles, paints, and pipes, in addition to electrical equipment, food and agricultural industries, and chemical products.

In May, the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce affirmed that the agreements signed with Syria represent a “strategic step toward enhancing economic cooperation,” noting that they will open broader horizons for economic integration that serves the interests of both countries, contributes to revitalizing trade and investment flows, and facilitates the smooth movement of goods and services across the border.
