Emergency Meeting to Gather Hundreds of U.S. Generals and Admirals Next Week

Washington – The Washington Post revealed that U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Higgs has issued an unprecedented order summoning hundreds of generals and admirals to an urgent meeting scheduled next week at the Quantico Marine Corps Base in Virginia, without disclosing the reasons behind the move.
According to the newspaper, the summons includes around 800 senior officers from various branches of the U.S. military, both inside the United States and abroad, including commanders stationed in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific. Informed officials confirmed that the order targeted officers at the rank of colonel and above who hold leadership positions, in addition to senior military advisors.
The sudden summons has caused confusion and concern within the military establishment, especially as it follows a series of significant changes implemented by President Donald Trump’s administration this year, which included the dismissal of several senior leaders.
Observers suggest that the meeting may be related to drafting the new National Defense Strategy, which is expected to rearrange the military’s priorities with a greater focus on “homeland defense,” at a time when China has been classified in recent years as the foremost security threat to the United States.
