Trump: Hamas Refuses to Release Detainees

U.S. President Donald Trump said today before the United Nations General Assembly that Hamas refuses to release detainees, while affirming his efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Trump added that the declaration recognizing the State of Palestine constitutes, in his words, “a new reward for Hamas,” emphasizing the importance of ending the war in Gaza through negotiations to ensure the release of detainees and achieve peace.

The U.S. president also stressed that ending the conflict requires dialogue that guarantees security and stability in the region, calling on all concerned parties to cooperate in order to reach lasting solutions.
