Hamas Proposes 60-Day Truce in Exchange for Releasing Half of Israeli Prisoners

Press reports indicate that Hamas sent a message to U.S. President Donald Trump proposing a temporary truce lasting 60 days in exchange for releasing half of the Israeli prisoners.
Fox News reported that the message was delivered to Qatar, which is expected to transmit it to Trump during the week. Meanwhile, sources from Axios and Israeli Channel 12 stated that Hamas leadership has not yet signed the message, although the signature is expected in the coming days. The sources explained that Hamas considers a comprehensive agreement currently impossible and prefers to start with partial agreements as a first step.
i24NEWS reported that the message included Hamas’s readiness to release half of the prisoners in exchange for a 60-day ceasefire, with the truce continuing during negotiations to end the war.
