Media Spreads False Claims About the Release of Kidnapped Individuals in Sweida

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a group of people from northern Syrian tribes, who were working on an agricultural project in Sweida governorate, leaving the area. They boarded a bus at their own expense heading towards Damascus after completing their work period.
Meanwhile, some media outlets and local pages circulated reports described as a “release operation of kidnapped individuals,” claiming that armed men from the Druze community freed about 30 people last night. However, the Syrian Observatory categorically denied these claims, confirming that what happened is unrelated to the issue of the kidnapped.
These developments come alongside information about a preliminary agreement between representatives of the Druze community and the Syrian government to prepare a new batch of kidnapped individuals for an anticipated exchange in the near future.
