Repeated Ceasefire Violations in Sweida Renew Tensions in the Southwest of the Province

The area around the village of A`rra, in the southwest of Sweida Province, witnessed a new violation of the ceasefire agreement around midnight Thursday–Friday. The incident involved an exchange of fire between government forces and allied militias on one side, and local factions affiliated with the Druze community on the other.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the clashes did not result in any casualties, but they underscore the fragility of the truce and the ongoing tension in the region.

It is worth noting that the Observatory had also documented a similar ceasefire breach after midnight Tuesday–Wednesday, which involved heavy 23mm machine gun fire directed toward the village of Arra, with no reports of injuries or losses.
