Turkey: Israel Represents the Greatest Threat to Syria and the Region

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan considered Israel’s expansionist policies to be “the greatest threat to Syria and the entire region.”

In an interview with MBC Masr channel, Fidan stated that the new Syrian administration led by Ahmed Al-Sharaa “has sent positive signals in its handling of regional issues.”

The Turkish minister explained that Ankara has held contacts with several regional countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, and the UAE, noting that they have reached “a common vision regarding what is expected from the new Syrian administration.”

Fidan added that the Syrian crisis is not only a domestic Turkish issue but also “a regional matter due to the shared borders with Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon.”
