Iran Executes Man Convicted of Spying for Mossad

Iranian authorities announced today the execution of Babak Shahbazi after he was convicted of espionage for the Israeli intelligence agency (Mossad).

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, Shahbazi was involved in transferring information to entities linked to Israel. The report stated that the execution was carried out after all legal procedures were completed and the verdict was upheld by the Supreme Court.

The agency added that Shahbazi had worked as a contractor specializing in the design and installation of industrial cooling systems and had been active in companies connected to both civilian and military/security institutions within the country.
