Qatari Prime Minister Meets U.S. Envoy to Discuss Syrian File

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, met today, Monday, in Doha with the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, to discuss the latest developments in the Syrian file and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries to support stability.

In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that both sides reviewed the political and on-the-ground developments in Syria and affirmed the continuation of joint coordination.

The meeting comes following discussions held yesterday, Sunday, between Barrack and the Foreign Minister of the Syrian Interim Government, Assad al-Shaibani, on the sidelines of the preparatory ministerial meeting for the emergency Arab-Islamic summit taking place in Doha.
