New Assassinations Target Individuals Accused of Collaborating with the Former Regime in Hama and Aleppo

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented two new assassinations targeting civilians in the cities of Hama and Aleppo.
In Hama, a man who owned a car dealership was killed after being directly shot by unknown gunmen in the Al-Taawuniyah neighborhood shortly after midnight on Tuesday-Wednesday. According to available information, the victim was accused of collaborating with the security agencies of the former regime.
In Aleppo, another man, who worked as a tobacco seller, was killed after two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on him near the Al-Aman Roundabout (formerly known as “Political Roundabout”). Reports indicate that this victim was also accused of being a “shabih” (militia member) and of cooperating with the security apparatus of the former regime.
These incidents reflect the ongoing state of security chaos and lawlessness in areas under the control of the Damascus government, amid a surge in assassinations and targeted killings of individuals linked to the former regime’s security forces.
