Israel Army Confirms in Statement Targeting Hamas Leadership Meeting in Doha and Killing of Khalil al-Hayya

Israel officials reported that the Israeli Air Force carried out an airstrike today on Qatar’s capital, Doha, targeting a meeting that included several Hamas leaders, among them Mohammed Darwish, Mousa Abu Marzouk, Hossam Badran, and Khaled Mashal, the head of Hamas, while discussing negotiation files.
As Israel officials also confirmed that the strike resulted in the death of Khalil al-Hayya, the head of the movement’s political bureau, as well as Zaher Jabarin, who is also a member of the movement.
A statement from the Israeli army indicated that the strike directly targeted Hamas leadership members who conduct hostile operations against Israel, stressing that all possible measures were taken to minimize collateral damage to civilians.
