Syria Signs Contracts Worth 935 Billion Syrian Pounds at Damascus International Fair

The 62nd edition of the Damascus International Fair (August 28 – September 5, 2025) concluded with a record attendance of 2.26 million visitors, while the value of contracts and agreements signed exceeded 935 billion Syrian pounds.

Mohammed Hamza, the Director of the Syrian Exhibitions and International Markets Corporation, stated that more than 800 companies from Syria and 44 Arab and foreign countries participated in the fair, noting that 96% of the visitors were local, compared to 4% from abroad.

He added that the fair contributed to stimulating the local economy by more than $120 million through tourism spending and related activities, in addition to creating temporary and permanent job opportunities and boosting service sectors such as transportation, hotels, and restaurants.
