Forced Evacuation of Houses Near a Border Crossing in Jindires by Turkish Orders

A few days ago, Turkish authorities issued a decision to evacuate homes located near the road leading to the Hammam crossing in the Afrin countryside of Aleppo governorate, aiming to widen the road and establish a dedicated area for the crossing.
Despite initial objections from the residents, they were forced to comply under pressure and fear of repercussions from refusal, amid promises from the controlling faction to provide temporary alternative housing and later compensation.
The residents told the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the notification came in a manner resembling a security raid, prompting families to move their furniture and belongings to relatives’ homes while awaiting alternative housing arrangements.
