Syria: Israeli Incursion into Quneitra

Syrian media reported today, Saturday, that an Israeli army patrol penetrated into the territory of Quneitra province in southern Syria, conducting a sweeping operation in the villages of Bir Al-Ajam and Bariqa, coinciding with reconnaissance aircraft flying over the area. There were no reports of any arrests during the operation.
This incursion comes after a similar incident that took place early Wednesday morning, when Israeli forces arrested seven people in the town of Jabata Al-Khashab in northern Quneitra countryside following raids on civilians’ homes. The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) indicated that the raiding force included five military vehicles and about 30 personnel, entering from a base established by the Israeli army near the town.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army confirmed that the detainees were transferred into the occupied territories for further investigation, accusing them of engaging in activities against its soldiers.
