12 Syrian Families Leave Al-Hol Camp for Their Original Areas

A new group of Syrian families left Al-Hol Camp in the countryside of Al-Hasakah on Sunday, returning to their original areas of residence inside Syria. The process took place in coordination between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
Sheikhmous Ahmad, co-chair of the Office for Displaced Persons and Refugees in the Autonomous Administration, stated that this is the third group to leave the camp. He added that the group consists of 12 families totaling 55 individuals, most of whom are women and children, originating from various areas including Aleppo, Idlib, Homs, Deir ez-Zor, Damascus, and Daraa.
Ahmad noted that the number of families leaving remains small compared to the large numbers still residing in the camp, affirming that the Autonomous Administration, in cooperation with the UNHCR, continues efforts to facilitate the release of more humanitarian cases.
He also pointed out that the Syrian Interim Government has not yet provided any services or facilities to support the return of displaced persons despite repeated meetings and negotiations. Ahmad called on international organizations and the government to support the efforts of the Autonomous Administration to ensure a safe and dignified return for all displaced people, particularly those displaced from Afrin, al-Shahba, Tell Rifaat, Ras al-Ain, and Tell Abyad.
